Thanks for the kind replies. I went back into the vale yesterday (Wednesday) and managed my longest ride to date of 51.07 miles. The climbs are getting easier very slowly. I even got up one faster than my riding partner, which I then paid for for the next few miles.

The next on my list was a 50+ mile ride, which I completed yesterday. Next 75 miles.
