I have conquered my nemesis

I live near the Vale of Belvoir and ever since I started cycling in May I have never been able to get back out of the vale once in. There several steep hills that have to cycled up to get home. Usually I would get about half way up and then come to a grinding halt and have to walk up the rest of the way.

That was until this weekend, when I managed to get up two of the climbs without stopping. It does help when I have my riding partner behind me shouting encouragement and then overtaking me and disappearing into the distance.

Riding with somebody fitter makes one push harder, it helps greatly imo.

Very much this. I recently found this out and it made me so happy.

I know I am massively fitter than I was then and that for me is what it was about and now its all about having fun!!
