So has anyone worked out what benefits there are to being followed?

The activity of the people you follow appears in your News Feed - so you can quickly catch up with what your CC friends have been doing, before heading off to New Posts or your favourite parts of the forums.

TBH though I don't think anyone really uses the news feed feature.
