Clone of what ?

I work in the countryside surrounded by fields, I take it you still work in the middle of urban sprawl?

Car commuting to my work is quicker than either cycle commuting or motorcycle commuting in any weather conditions...I've done it all 3 ways. You just live in a rat race central

I have a lovely view of the historic harbourside and the Ashton Court estate. Much nicer than your dull monoculture (fields and town). And I can easily get here by bike.

I've done the car commuting thing and it's rubbish. The only compensation was that I didn't have to drive to Cheltenham.

The point is that it is not a masculine trait to enjoy driving one.

I should hope yours is for £53k

Seven pages and we still don't know whether it's Paul's car or not?

Come on - put us out of our misery ... :surrender:

Wasn't Ashton court built on the exploitation of slaves in both the UK and the colonies?

Maybe its a genuine Disco Discovery, for all those field raves that go on in the SW, inspired by Glastonbury. Featuring twin decks in the back with a lockable diff between them for those tricky segues and independent air suspension to avoid track skipping while negotiating tough terrain. Headlamps can be supplemented by a spotlight set in various colours with removable filters, and a retro 70's option comes fitted with roof-mounted glitter ball instead of roof bars.

FTFY

After the Wests were convicted of mass murder in Gloucester, their house in Cromwell St was razed to the ground, and a small garden of remembrance was created as a mark of respect for their victims. It wasn't turned into a playground for the descendant of the people who ran the slave trade there.

It is all about scruples. Brizzle council are now taking income from the estate are they not ?

I wasn't aware that the estate is only open to the unopressed.[/quote]

They should never have acquired it in the first place. A shocking error of judgement. They have no shame

Anyway, back to the 4x4 ownership bit, and this manly feeling you get when you drive it. Do you not get this same feeling when on your bike and sailing past the traffic like User482 does ?

The estate was bequeathed to the city of Bristol by the Smyth family. Are suggesting that we shouldn't use it?

Actually, the estate was created by the Normans, who presumably took the land from Bristolians. Nice to get it back, wouldn't you say?

Sorry, back on tiopic now with 4x4's. You'll have to start another thread in CA&D if you want to defend the actions of the slave masters....sorry, I mean the City Council

You mean the Normans? Where was I defending them?

Anyway, 4x4s. They're a bit rubbish, aren't they.

If they are in your eyes, then they must be. You get that self staisfying smugness from passingthem in a traffic jam, so that must be the case.
Is smugness the same as manliness ?
