What traffic ? You can only blame yourself for chosing to live in a big city. If you don't like it, you should move to a quieter place where you can get out in the countryside. I am less than a 10 minutte cycle ride from farmed land, and I live less than 10 minutes ffrom the centre of town.

Traffic doesn't cause me any bother (save for idiots in 4x4s), because I use a bicycle. The countryside and the centre are also 10 minutes ride for me, the difference is that I have top quality mtb trails and a great city, you have fields and a clone town.

I loved my Disco. I sold it when I stopped living in the Highlands and moved to nice flat Norfolk. In this weather, I do miss it. I also miss the acreage in the back, I could get the bikes in with no problems, or all the dogs without them being squashed. My Disco cost me £2000 and I sold it for the same. I don't think that I would spend £53k on any car.

I work in the countryside surrounded by fields, I take it you still work in the middle of urban sprawl?
Car commuting to my work is quicker than either cycle commuting or motorcycle commuting in any weather conditions...I've done it all 3 ways. You just live in a rat race central
