Since commuting my weight has started dropping quite dramatically, my appetite is through the roof but I can't seem to balance the calorie intake.
{I was fairly lean before hand but am now getting to the stage of a boxer at weigh in time}

My commute is only a 12 Mile round trip ridden at an average of 20mph so you'd think the Calorie offset wouldn't be too bad yet it's not quite working that way.

I wake up I eat, I ride, arrive at the office, eat, eat more at lunch, ride home at 2:30pm, and have a second cooked lunch, followed by Dinner where by anything my girlfriend doesn't eat I finish, same with my son, unless he's smeared the contents of his Pasta bake across his face and body I'll finish his leftovers. I even finished a big bag of crisps and a pot of Hagen Daz last night.

I'm starting to get worried that I'll sleep walk into my sons bedroom at night and cook him up with a bit of BBQ sauce.

Are there any special foods that can be added to my diet to increase Calorie intake? I'm not a fan of Meal shakes or weight gain formula, mostly as I believe them to be a bit of a con but some of you must have some tips or tricks.

Cheers

It sounds a bit extreme ( the weight loss and eating an offspring!). What height and weight are you?

That's the same height and weight as I've been for 15 years - BMI of around 22, what's the problem?

Do you get alot of comments on being too skinny.
I've had several in the past couple of weeks, granted mostly they came from large ladies and my alcoholic Mother in law but still, 10 Stone for a 27 Year old seems rather paltry to me and I DEFINATELY do not want to slip into 9 Stone territory.

Seconded. Your BMI is good, it's not too low. The population, however, is getting larger - which makes you seem relatively underweight. The problem is theirs, not yours!

I am 5' 8" and 72kg (BMI 23.8), and people think I'm skinny too (they don't see the thicker bit in the middle!), but the healthy range is 18.5 to 24.9.

Revel in your time.

Darren

I'm 5'7" and weigh 12st (76kg) which is 1.5st more than I weighed when I was 15 years younger and running huge distances.
I'd say that 10st is the minimum you want to weigh and if you're still losing weght then that could become a problem. I'm no doctor but it's worth keeping an eye on. I have a lady friend who is extremely bike fit and kept losing weight and it turned out to be a glandular malfunction.
I don't mean to scaremonger but as you imply in your first post you are concerned about continuing to lose weight.

I'd chop off my left leg to be 10 stone, but I don't think it would help...

Surely chopping off your leg may get you close?

I am 6ft 4 so would look skinny at 10stone but i would love a bit of the BMI of 22 action! swap you for my 26.5??

If you have lost a lot recently, it may just be peoples reactions to you looking slimmer and its making you paranoid.

But other posters are right if you slip down into the 9's and keep losing then go to the quacks and errr... check your poo for worms!

Thanks for all the replies, I'm going to fight the weight loss until June as I already have a Pre op test before surgery so hopefully if there's anything wrong it should be highlighted.

I think some beer is in order for this evening, to help of course.
