Now it's 36 miles in a day

Last time I posted here I couldn't do 6 to 7 miles but with encouragement from the nice people here I did 22 miles yesterday, I am no longer worried about riding my bike on busy roads. I am getting stronger and fitter. I am sure my beer belly would be gone soon

Just wanted to say Thanks

Great going dude.

If you want the beer belly gone then cycling can certainly help as it burns calories and you need a negative calorie balance consistently over time to achieve fat loss. Just don't over compensate with humungous eating following your rides as I have been known to do...

Well done from another newbie..

Did my first 20m + (21.4) the other day; still not too confident on busier roads (unclipping mainly, not too worried about the traffic), weight is down a very few pounds but not a lot yet.

But I feel better and am enjoying it

Well done, I still am not 100% clipping in setting off, ok unclipping though.

Well it's the unclipping in a hurry that's my worry really & I can only unclip when not pedalling too so I need a little "planning" time for it.
I seem to do better unclipping my (supposedly) worst leg (fractured medial condyle, dislocated kneecap and open joint 5 yrs ago)
Don't want to make a t*t of myself falling off & worry/get reprimanded by my GF........

I think we all fall off at some point, just try unclipping in advance, it becomes instinct, clipping in on the other has always been a problem, I am more likely to come of at that point.

When you need to unclip fast you don`t think it just happens. Bit like an emergency stop in the car by the time you realize the danger you have already done it.

Don`t worry you will be OK.
