You lot put me to shame! I try to clean the chain every 200 miles or so (1-2 weeks) but that's about it.
i cant be a***d !!!

I cleaned the chains and cassettes on my three bikes a couple of weeks back. They didn't look that good though
On my Audax bike last year, after a through clean it cost me afew quid for a new chainset, cassette and chain. it was the muck that was stopping the chain from slipping on worn teeth.

My good bike is still sitting in the flat; I cleaned it last week and left the chain/ chainset/ cassette over night to dry and can't be bothered refitting the chain/ relubing.
