To some of you this may be a stupid question but here goes! When removing and refitting wheels do I need to take special precautions? I know that I have to get the disc in the slot and not to pull the brake lever with wheel removed but anything else?

nope - that's it

i second the above, but would add that sometimes you have to gently prise the pads open a little to get the disc back between them, rember to pump the leaver a few times befor rideing

be careful when fitting the rear wheel as it is easy to scratch the chainstay with the disc

Sometimes you will find that for no apparent reason, when you refit a wheel the disc does not sit centrally between the pads, and rubs slightly. Re-centring is simple; slacken the two caliper mounting bolts, apply the brake and keep it firmly applied while you tighten the caliper mounting bolts.

If the brake has been working OK, best push the pads apart with a screwdriver (they are a very tight fit) refit the wheel then squeeze the lever to reposition the pads.
