Oaf on a Bike
Im probably going to go from hybrid to cyclocross when the time arises to upgrade. There seems a lot of variation, different gear ranges, some with pannier mounts, disc brakes and i also like the idea of those extra brake levers which ive seen on the Specialized Tricross and Giant TCX. I like the disc brakes on the Tricross and the choice of gearing. The price seems to start a fair bit higher than road/hybrids though.
My hybrid feels like im trying to cut through the wind with a parachute sometimes, bending right down chin near the bars seems to make a huge huge difference, so i figure drops would be a real difference to average speed. I think id compromise with CX tyres for trails and dirty roads.
