Hi,

which of the following ones you recommend for communting and a few Thriathlon (beginners)?

Felt QX75 - £274.44 http://www.wiggle.co.uk/felt-qx75-2016/
Boardman Hybrid - £375 http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/hybrid-bikes/boardman-hybrid-comp-bike
Merida Crossway Urban 20 - £399.99 http://www.merida-bikes.com/en_gb/b...hybrid/2016/crossway-urban-20-gents-6050.html
Merida Speeder 20 - £400 http://www.merida-bikes.com/en_gb/b.../flat-bar-road-bike/2017/speeder-20-8395.html

I am particulary fan of merida bikes but is the most expensive one!

(merida speeder 20 added to the list)

Thanks

If doing triathlons, is there a reason why you have selected only flat handlebars? Not that you need drops, just a lot of people 'racing' do use a roadbike

If you like Merida, this company has some reduced, e.g. the higher specced https://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m9b0s18p7345/MERIDA-CROSSWAY-URBAN-40-GENTS-2016

Ref the ones you've selected, do try them out if you can

I need flat bars...don´t like the others

If I could have a road bike and just change the bar I would try that

There are flatbar roadbikes at Decathlon, good price too

Have you tried a modern drop bar roadbike for a decent amount of time?

If you do go with Halfords, if you join British Cycling, you get 10% off at Halfords for the year (£35 membership, the saving on the bike alone would cover). Also get important benefits esp for commuting, 3rd party indemnity and legal cover

I was also thinking about cycle scheme....

any alternatives for a decent price?

Thanks
Older models, like the one I linked.

Can get some cashback from Quidco at quite a few retailers too, might save a tenner

If you use Evans (who'll price match most retailers) you can also convert clubcard vouchers into Evans vouchers - double up, so £5 Tesco = £10 Evans

Don't forget to budget for locks and insurance (especially if buying on credit / cycle scheme)
