My Hub & cassette seem to wobble when spinning, the bike is only 5 months old, is this normal?

After a quick google some people say it's normal some say it's not and it's the bearing, need to know before I do the New Forest 100 mile ride next weekend, hopefully though I don't have to spend any more money.

I noticed it today when my wheel felt like it was bumping when riding, this could be due to needing to reseat the tyre though by the looks of it.

I recorded a clip of it:

Is the cassette lockring seated well against the cassette? If you have the wrong spacer somewhere in the stack, the cassette doesn't centre properly because the lockring doesn't compress it..

I think...

I'll have a look in the morning, not sure, Haven't done anything to the bike since getting it, I'm good with most things on a bike but never touched hubs so I was going to give the LBS a call in the morning, Just didn't want to take the wheel in and nothing wrong with it, would feel so stupid lol.

I didn't get it from my local shop, it bought it from Evans, my local is stows, will try maybe reseating the cassette and if no luck then I'll take the wheel to them.

IMO the first bit of the video doesn't seem right, almost as if the hub has been manufactured eccentric. However the cassette 'wobble' looks similar to what I've had on many a bike even Hope Hoops.

Are the cones tightened right? Ie is there just enough movement at the rim in the lateral plane?

Ok, easy to check. Take the wheel out and spend the axle by hand - if it's bent the end of the axle will make a circle rather than spin straight.

I'm struggling to see how a bent axle will give that effect. Maybe I'm being dim, the axle is held solid, so wouldn't a bent axle just make the rim off centre?
When the axle is bent the bearing race (cup& cone surfaces) are not uniform all the way around, there is a point where the cup and cone has a narrow point and wide point with a greater gap at the widest being wider the bearings collect in that section in effect making it like a bearing short as the whee rotates at speed the bearings wil group together and pass through the narrowest point in effect lifts the outer race up, once the group of bearings pass and all drop to the wider point which in turn the outer race lowers again giving the impression of the eccentric hub.

Thanks for your replies guys, I don't think the axle is bent, I took out the quick release skewer and looked through and it seemed fine, I couldn't find my tool to remove the cassette so I took it to my local stows, should have it back by Monday / Tuesday, the guy in the shop said it seems like the bearings need replacing, cassette wobble is normal he said, the wheel has only done 1600 miles, it's about 5 months old.

Ah ok, I was thinking sealed bearings which wouldn't do that. Cheers.
