How to remove headset bearing 'cups'

as above...what is the 'correct tool' called

nearest LBS is Glasgow 25 miles
4 buses away.!

Which? Crown race setter or headset cup remover?

I'd soak it overnight then try a few gentle taps tomorrow.

I got one of these, and it made removing the bearing races very easy, on my first (and so far, only) headset replacement. I know some people could make their own, but I've never been very good at that kind of thing.

well thanks, as that seems to be working with the 1/2'' drive socket system
the lower [cup?] has moved down 1/8'' so more GT85 and try later

EDIT.......later...............brilliant - use a square ended screwdriver = both removed

Once you've got one out you can just use a large socket slid into the headtube with a tight fit to knock the other out. Prefer a socket, less chance of damage than using a sharp object.
