I have a similar route on my commute. I get in the outside lane at the lights before the next turn and , even when waiting there, stick my right hand out to indicate that I'm going right at the next junction. I've never had a problem with the cars behind. If they know what you are trying to do, nearly everybody accomodates you.

I agree [and there's gonna be a lot of flack flying for this] but I find that in a lot of cases cyclists don't signal at all or don't signal properly [I admit a lot of drivers don't signal either but A - this is a cycling forum, not a mouthpiece for top gear and B - they don't tend to burst into tears when somebody blows a horn at them].
