How tight - Stem on carbon steerer

It looks fine. I might take it down to Geoffrey Butler and get them to give me a second opinion.

You'll see crushing, the carbon looks 'soft'

The manufacturer came back to me today.

The stem is made of aluminium and the max. torque is 8-10 Nm even if the steerer is made of carbon.

Of the bike, the forks are branded by the company that made the bike, so I can't tell if it is made by another company or not.

Evans reply is not very useful. But based on the previous response, having said the max torque remains the same for their carbon steerer it sounds like you are good to go!
