Team Sky's mastermind Dave Brailsford says in an interview with French sports daily L'Equipe that he's considering relaxing his standards when it comes to hiring managers.

'At the start, I didn't want anyone who'd been caught up in a doping scandal, but as soon as you look for someone aged over 35 with lots of experience, you won't find anyone without a few worries. Maybe I'm going to have to reappraise my judgements'

How long will it be before he drops the no compromise policy on drugs when hiring riders for Team Sky? Welcome to the real world Mr Brailsford.

Brailsford, despite all the glib corporate sports world language, is no fool and I'm sure Team Sky will be unrecognisable in a couple of seasons, I'm also sure Sky will be expecting a better return next season.

Malcolm Elliot could become a pro on the European circuit afterall. He's certainly over 35 and I don't think he has had any doping allegations

He rode for Teka (esp) as a pro amongst other teams, and in the USA. He's a few years too old for the real stuff in europe, and nandrolone in eye drops caused a little problem some years ago. Why do most posters on here seem to have so little knowlege?
Sky will be different in 2011, now they have been firmly put in their place by other teams and allowed to work with HTC, after trying to buy success, there may be more friends in the peloton.

Can't remember the full details but there was something in the early/mid 90's, possibly while he was racing in the states. Don't think it came to anything though...

Just goes to show the corner that Brailsford painted himself into. It's a sad fact that he's now recognised that you can't sweep away all that came before (especially with Sky Corp breathing down your neck).

An interesting introductory remark! Still taking those classes in 'how to make friends'? ;)

Welcome to the forum btw!!
Thanks for the welcome. If stating what's clear from the posts offends, then consider what you post. Thanks for the welcome,I've been watching this for ages then decided to take a plunge in. The thing is, I've been around and in the sport so long at levels from bottom to top and back, with so many people I know, I don't really care about hurting a few sensibilities, but whatever I say will be based on experience, knowledge, and BS free.
It ain't compulsory to read the posts!;)

Well, I for one look forward to your contributions... even if they might be worded economically, shall we say! ;)

But do try to keep in mind that few of us have your level of experience, so be gentle!
