How the Hell ... (did Vernon's avatar get everywhere)

Apologies to anyone who has found it upsetting - I have always tweaked CC on the 1st of April for a few hours and I thought it a fitting way to remember the passing of a good man who was a long-term, and much-loved member to our community.

It has been a bit overwhelming seeing so much of Vernon though, so I've put CC back to normal and we can continue our tributes here and here and here.

I thought it was very fitting!

However, I do have one complaint. Normally I recognise a poster by their avatar, not their name. I reckon you owe me 5 minutes in additional reading time trying to work out who was saying what.

Vern had a good sense of humour and I'm fairly confident he'd be amused by it, but if people feel it is inappropriate it is a two second job to remove it.

Vernon would have loved it, he really would. I can almost see the big, proud grin on his face.

I think it's an excellent way of remembering the man. To tell the truth I hadn't even realised he had left us until I saw all this.

I knew he had left us, and thought it both an excellent prank, that he will have enjoyed, and a splendid way of paying him tribute.

Would you be kind enough to remove my post or this thread, I had no idea of Vernon's passing when I made it, as I was on a shaky bus & having just opened CC on my phone, my initial thoughts were that of, is there a tech glitch in the forum or is it my phone, have I pressed something inadvertently when being bounced around my bus seat ? Etc, etc.

It isn't a malicious post - it is an error or oversight.
I have subsequently posted on the Vernon thread my thoughts (hours ago) & feel no need to explain further.

I sympathise, but I think your post is charming. You've accidentally caught the spirit of what @Shaun was saying, and your screen caps are useful for those that missed it.

Don't feel bad, you could hardly have be more empathetic if you known what had happened.
