Know what you mean though, I do that too, especially if I'm thinking about putting across a stronger opinion rather than just advice / comments

I was going to start a very similar thread last week but changed my mind.

Baggy sums it up well, someone is usually able to offer a funnier/more compassionate/more intelligent/more insightful/more useful reply, otherwise I'd have nearly as many posts as Dom.

I'm only replying to this as it's hit home quite strongly.

I've lost count of the number of times I've re-read a reply I've prepared and decided it's not adding much to the thread. It's probably just a confidence thing and an anti-dote to the fact that I shoot my mouth off too much.

if i miss the start of a thread and it gets more than 3 pages long, i often don't read it thro coz i haven't got the patience/time

Similar thing here... or I'll want to reply to something on on page 1 of the thread but the conversation's well and truely moved on.

Manys a time I've started to type up a reply and thought better of it - for any number of reasons.

I often go in to "the Chain" at around two in the morning and think of a song in my head but then forget the artist or vice versa, then sit there for ages trying to remember it!

It drives me nuts
