As a direct result of moving to Naples, I now carry my wallet in a front pocket rather than a hip pocket and this has encouraged me to minimise my size of my wallet. It is quite nice having a much smaller wallet. So my wallet currently carries:

2 x ID
Italian cash card
UK credit card
Driving licence
Med insurance card
Cash

On the bike a small wallet with a ten pound note and my bank card in, in real life bank card, clocking in card and driving licence.

I only take my wallet on the bike if I am intending to buy something. Otherwise I just keep about £3 in change in my saddle bag for emergency food or telephone calls.

Plastic wise, I have:

Visa Debit
Nationwide cash machine card
2 year out of date college ID card
Debenhams gift card
Costa coffee club
Library card
Provisional driving license

Card wise I have:

Greggs loyaty card
2x Marks and Spencer loyalty card
2x Caffé Nero loyalty card
Cafeology loyalty card

That's a bit more than I thought I had.

dont carry a wallet i have a tenner or something on me in case i fancy grabbing a bite to eat but tbh thats rare , my mobile doubles as gps stopwatch and call home for pick up , i doubt i could get by bike on a bus or in a taxi anyway and trains rarely have stations on remote country roads .

No need to carry my donor card as I'm on the register.

That's another one I can leave behind then...

I bought myself a Jimi wallet and it helped me cut down on all the cards that I could carry as it will only hold 4 cards along with about 4 bank notes, so that narrowed it down to:-

Visa Card
Driving Licence
Matalan Card
ID card.

On top of that though, every few months, I no longer have to have a clear out of all the receipts etc and all the other junk that ends up in your wallet making it about an inch thick.

I tried only carrying only the cards i need. not worth the hassle IMHO after a failed library trip and a failed shopping trip in one week.

Lucky I forgot the switch card because if I had bought the shopping but forgotten the Tesco points card my life wouldnt be worth living

Where I really could make a weight advantage is on the keyring.
