How much is this bike worth?

Hello,I’m new to bikes and I’m finding cheap second hand bikes. I wonder how much should I pay for a bike like this?

In that condition not a lot. However, cleaned up, lubed, new brake blocks, new brake and gear cables and a good spray of detailer it's not a bad bike. Done up I'd say maybe £75 - £100 tops. It's very dated by today's standards, that's the trouble. You might have trouble finding a buyer. In it's current condition maybe £30 - £40. That chain would put most buyers off but scrubbed up and lubed it might look ok and even work.

^^^These guys are apparently more easily pleased than I 😁 When with a tiny bit of waiting - you could get something really quite nice for little more than £100 - I personally wouldn’t spend £50 on this. We’ve all been there thinking it’s a bargain. But by the time you’ve sorted the bits you can see and know about - and then tackle the bits you can’t see or know about: you’ll have doubled that initial purchase price in the blink of an eye. Not to mention the time and effort. And all to end up with something ‘low spec’ anyway…….

The only way this is worth starting is if it’s given to you FOC imo.
