They are having a 4 for £1 promotion in all the shops round here - have gone through 3 packs already this week

you could just buy the multipacks of snickers and the like which means getting the price of a full sized bar down to 25pence.

Excellent advice for those with will power.

Like actpete, I was a sucker for the multi-buys. I'd go into Woolies for a mag or newspaper and end up with 6 assorted chocolate bars.... which I'd then proceed to consume as I read said mag/newspaper. It's okay, I'd feel sick afterwards and vow never to do it again. ;)

It's not chocolate bars I do that with (thankfully, I seem to have a low chocolate intake threshold), it's multibuys of 'puddings'. When I finished my 600 last week, I went across the road from the B&B to Sainsburys for some 'dinner' it being a bit late to be bothered with a restaurant and TBH I didn't have that much of an appetite. I bought a 500g tray of raspberries and then noticed they had individual strawberry trifles at 2 for £1.80, so naturally I bought two. And ate one which just wasn't enough - but two was definitely too much xx( even with the raspberries

The size of bars (Mars, Snickers et al) goes up and down quite often, but the price inevitably only goes up.
I think they are around 60p around here now (Glasgow area). I was in WH Smith in Sauchiehall Street yesterday and they were wanting £1.64 for a 500ml bottle of Coke! It's only a couple of years since they were around 80p and can still be found at that price in some shops. Someone is ripping us off!

Like most people in Slough I know someone who works at the Mars factory. I therefore get my Snickers for free (along with Mars, Maltesers, Skittles, Starburst, Milk Way and other assorted sweeties)!!!

Here's a sobering thought. When i was a kid, a Mars Bar cost 6d. A bag of chips cost 6d. (yes, old pennies  )
A mars bar now costs what ? 55p in some places....a bag of chips £1.10

So stop moanin
