It varies for me, the weather makes a huge difference on what I need to drink.

I did 110 miles a few weeks ago on one 750ml bottle and a cup of coffee. On Friday I did 105 miles and had two cans of coke, 750ml bottle and a 1 litre by bottle. In the winter I can do a ton on a big mug of tea before setting off.

It's another "how long is a piece of string?" question.
On my Loire Valley tour a couple of summers ago, I couldn't get enough water; and what I could get was heating up in the bottle within 10 minutes. Temperatures were in the high 30's C.. No idea how much I was drinking every 10 miles, but it was a LOT.
On the other hand, back in the cold and damp west of Scotland, I wouldn't even bother taking a bottle with me on a 10 mile ride, unless it was that one freak day of the year when it was hot and sunny.

As long as I breathe, I attack.

Yup dependant on terrain, weather, how your feeling it varies .
I normally do a club run around 60 miles on 1 bottle + a coffee
Last sportive i did was 75 miles on 2 bottles.
10 mile each way commute i dont take anything as your only looking at 30 -35 mins each way .

I've managed 45 miles on fairly flat terrain but in 25+ c temps, only took a 500ml bottle. Paid for that decision later in the day though but it only took me 2.5 hrs so only stopped to drink at the turn around point.

Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
@Hill Wimp and @hopless500 can only cycle as far as the next pub before stopping for a drink
True.

However I never visit one on my own. She is a bad influence

I tend to do 150 ( odd ) milers with 1 750ml bottle, I refill it at about halfway. I do ride with people who seem to need a lot more, it depends on the person doing the riding.

Hi, just got back from a 10mile ride across reasonably flat terrain and consumed a full 750ml bottle of squash. Am now sat here thinking if I go further I will need another bottle.
Is 10miles on one bottle of water average or too excessive. I only stopped 3 times for a drink.
Cheers John.

10 mile ride....3 stops...750ml of squash
Just how steep was this 10 mile hill?
