Also, yes, some trains do have keys, but also starting the engine on a diesel loco, you need to press the start button down for a few seconds, and even then, the engine will not just burst into life, you need to wait for it to prime, which can take the best part of about 15 or 20 seconds!
That's not special. My dad's old Peugoet 205 used to take that long to preheat

Make the most of them, cause they wont be around too much longer ^_^ Can't meet Disabled People’s Protection Policy & they are all due to be withdrawn from service in the not too distant future :cheers:

And good riddance. Their last positive use was as origami play-things for Class 87 locos, but they've all been removed from regular service now.

Leaving aside their origami suitability, one positive of Pacers was Daisy Dog liked them because she could look out of the long door windows.

I still say they're better for bikes...

...why can't we have the guards' van back?
In general it's wasted space. But there are trains between London and Kidderminster which have a guards van.
