i have a track pump for home use and a mini track pump for on the road i went for this one in the end
128283

i can get 100 psi out of it no problem and it fits both valve types same way as shown in the vid its not got the biggest volume per stroke but its impressive to get 100 psi out of something so small

I've messed up quite a few valves - usually while taking the pump out - in the past so I almost always use an adaptor with a hose, even with a track pump.

summat like this
Absolutely! Either get the adaptor or a pump with a hose. I know a lot of people use fixed head pumps but I've always found them a right PITA when it comes to breaking valves. Pumping them is also far more awkward, IMVHO.

I tried 2 different mini pumps that struggled to get my MTB tyres hard..

Ended up getting a nice alloy bodied track pump from Decathlon for £25.. No probs getting the road bike up to 110 psi and even did the car tyres with it this morning..

Did you get the tube sorted on the road bike David,I'm out on the cycle Aigburth ride tomorrow at Sefton Park,we spoke about a previous ride a while ago.I use a presta / shrader valve adaptor for my road bike so I can use a floor or foot pump,, buy a metal adaptor if you can, much better than the plastic ones.

i havnt done it yet, still using my subway mostly until the warmer weather. im going to get an adapter. i liked my double foot pump more than the track pump but it broke and its not worth buying another when i have a track pump with adpater for both valves. ive got an inner tube so may have a go at the bike this afternoon.

what time is the sefton ride? ive got a couple of things planned for tomorrow

ohhh that sounds tempting, im suppose to be going to a jym with the wife at 11am for a freebie, my son wants to watch his mates play rugby, guess what that starts at 11am also, it would be difficult for me to let one down let alone both so regretfully probably wont make it. sounds just the right ride for me, not to far away and 2 hours is a challenge without being too much

ive managed to put a new inner tube in! yipeee i couldnt convert my mini pump so will buy a converter, and another spare innertube!

thanks guys and bootle, we'll defo get some type of ride in this year

No problem David,,maybe when your not so busy...pump should just be a matter of turning the plastic insert around.
