Its a bike, its for riding, ride it, if its dirty when you get back wash it down, if something is broken or out of adjustment fix it, if something needs lube lube it, then go out and ride it again, repeat till its knackered.

Really like my bike. It's probably love.

Was just out adjusting the direct mount brake (had to look at an Art's Cyclery video and learned what the smallest little screw on the side was for) and then wiped the bike down.

Love cleaning and caressing that bike with some wax. Like riding around with it too.

How do you show your bike some love? Do you buy it new things? Or are you one of those that beats your bike and it still loves you?
Mmmmm, noticed you're from across the pond, I know you guys have a pretty wacky sense of humour but...................have you been in Sweden at all over the last few years?:laugh:

This is not what I was alluding to in my tongue in cheek thread.

Sheriff Colin Miller told Stewart: "In almost four decades in the law I thought I had come across every perversion known to mankind, but this is a new one on me. I have never heard of a 'cycle-sexualist'." From 2007.

The real problem in this case is that it became public. People use all kind of devices in private without being charged. Over here some are charged for being caught with a hoe, (as hard as that is to imagine).

Now let's get back to how do you love your bike. NOT how to have sex with it. Perhaps timing wasn't right. How late is it over there?

I've been dreading the day but it's approaching soon. When my new bike comes next week i'll have to get rid of 16 years service old faithful with the cracked headtube. I'm only allowed three, so it's one in and one out. I don't want to put him out for the binmen so i'll probably put the two rusting bikes i've had outside for a year or so out for the bins and put old faithful in their place. If i had a spare room they'd all be in there in retirement on stands but i haven't so they have to go.

Know what you mean. We tend to hold on to our bikes even when they get "old". Much like a pet that we don't want to see go of no matter how old.

Usually will move the unused bike further and further away - garage, shed, etc. as part of the separation process. I feel your loss. Good luck with your new bike.

I think your use of the Queen's English was taken the mickey of (mickey being mickey mouse - fool).

Mine are in a secure garage, bolted to the floor and washed after every wet ride.

Haven't been to Sweden; yet, would like to know more...

Yes we have a wacky sense of humor. To "love on something or someone" is a regional way in the US to describe how you might love a child or pet or someone dear. Not aware of a sexual connotation but I haven't been everywhere in the US either.
