I have a Workcycles Fr8. It's a pain sourcing replacement tyres, Rose bikes was the only place I could find Big Apple Plusses.
I've always found Amazon.co.uk handy for sourcing odd size tyres. fwiw. You may not be comfortable buying from them for ethical reasons.

I don't remember the last time I bought a tyre in person, in a shop. Online is the way I roll.

No problems with a cross bar with mine, especially if I've got cycling shorts underneath. Kilts have a huge amount of slack built in.

These kind of err, bikes are pretty (ugly) popular here, for snow and slush cycling, I assume, as I can't think of any other reason why you'd want one.

What is wrong with only driving a 4x4 in town? You can see a long way sitting right up there, not that you would sometimes think that to see some drivers.

My old MTB has no suspension and no disc brakes, and big fat balloon tyres (schwalbe big apple)... making it most definitely more of an urban bike by today's standards. That doesn't stop me going for the occasional forty-odd mile trundle in the summer. Fat tyres and a steel frame, it's like cycling on a sofa!

Ahem. Thought...'paired spoke deep section fat bike wheels? Surely not!'. Googled. Found press release with that image. April 1, 2012.......
I'd like a fat bike, just for snow and giggles.....

back to back conf calls. All day.

My commuter bike came with 26 x 2" Big Apple tyres. They are good for cruising along, fast on cobbles and generally make for more carefree riding on rough roads and paths. They are not good in snow or mud.
The construction of BA tyres is quite advanced like most modern tyres by Schwalbe, nothing like the old balloon tyres of US paperboy bikes.
I replaced with the same when they wore out.

Well, the scene is set. My gig here in cph has been extended by six months, and I'll be moving further away (read cheaper) from the office, and thus away from the gobike network, so I need some wheels. Can ship over my Brompton on a temp commuter basis and for use at weekends if I want to get out of town or rail+bike it.

So I will pay a visit to Velorbis soonest and see a Churchill in the flesh....
