How do I reattach the Ortlieb Pannier handle

Does it slide on from the side, or if I force it should it clip back into place?

In the States I’ve contacted Ortlieb direct and they were patient and helpful.

I think you undo that screw at the end of the bar, remove the stopper, slide the handle back on, then replace the stopper.

Thanks, will try that later when I get home. Hopefully it is alright on my way home with just one end attached to the rack.

Looking at it, my take on this (and I know nothing about Ortlieb bags) is that you should push the clip over the skinny bit of the bar in the dead centre, and then slide it to the left. Having probably given everything a squirt of WD40 first.

That should be easy enough to try, and doesn't involve undoing anything, so worth a bash just to eliminate the possibility.

Flip up the catch on the strap so you can slide it along the rail (from the middle as above) then click it back down to lock in place.

I have the old attachements on some of my ortleibs but my larger model was with these newer version. When it came off mid tour I just forced it back on and it has not come off since. mine kind of clicked on but the correct way is to either click it on in the middle then slide across or undo the whole rail system by unscrewing the ends inside (there is a kind of plastic nut cover there to turn IIRC) then sliding it on from the end and reattaching the rail again. This may of course cause the bolt to come undone again after some use so either screw lock glue or keep an eye on it in use.

You can pretty much buy all ortlieb pannier spare parts should you need them

I had this very problem and I was trying to force the clip back on over the rail. I wouldn't do it, so I took it to the shop and he slid the clip back in from the end.
