The had to Olympics accept professional sports or it would no longer exist. Very few sports now differentiate between amateur and professional classes (golf I believe being one of the few remaining).

At our village Olympics (no, I don't live in Ambridge thank you very much) they had a Tug of Peace. I can't tell those of you who don't live here how Lewes that is.

I just hope the contenders were all 16 or over.

To my mind the test should be is the Olympic title the pinnacle of achievement and would you try to peak in a leap year. Road cycling - no. Track cycling - yes. Football - definitely no. BMX race or MTB - yes. Golf - no. All manner of swimming and athletics - yes. Cricket and tennis - no. Strangely, tug of war would probably fit.

I think they should have pillow fighting on a greasy pole. Perhaps the ladies beach volleyball teams could use it as a way of warming up before their matches.
