A former Burton's Taylor shop in Abergavenny. Still a clothes shop but Burton's have long gone. We were discussing ex-Burton's upthread and I think I mentioned this very one, and happened to be passing earlier. Annoyingly it seems I've done 'em in square format making it hard to see rather fine Burton's sign from the lower picture. The upper floor is slightly more art-deco that it looks in my grey pictures

I've played for a few wedding dos on Burgh Island, and to be honest when you get up close it's a bit disappointing - it looks like it was done on a tight budget, so not as opulent as you might expect, and lacking sexy curvaceousness. Still nice though.

We stayed there for our honeymoon back in 2003, it was a bit shabby back then, in fact the foyer ceiling collapsed on our last day!

Saw this one on FB - a one-off from 1936 in Brislington, Bristol, which was a show home apparently, but never had any takers for others. What a pity. (Also a pity that the curved glass has been replaced with completely the wrong windows.)

There used to be quite a few in that style on the cliff top in Old Felixstowe. The last two I can find images of are the grey & white ones in this 2009 Google map link, but like all the others they have since been knocked down and new builds taken their place.

Pointed out by a friend as we were in Valence yesterday... restored, but pity about the windows... I feel sure that the originals would have had more horizontal bars, even if the building avoids curvaceousness. But it's been nicely restored otherwise.

Sadly that link goes nowhere now, but it looks like I ought to create a Nart Deco day out there one time when I'm passing through, which is frequently... or maybe a nice day's outing in the summer...
