Years ago my Dad was having a conservatory built.

Dad wasn't impressed with the uneven nature of the brickwork the guy had done that morning, and in the afternoon the guy keeled over with a heart and went to builders heaven. The latter probably explained the former.

Finally got round to installing the downstairs toilet - thought it'd take an hour or so but it took about 5 between having to go to screwfix and fiddling with a slow leak.

Major update in jhnbssll world 🌎 We moved in to our new family home in October! This can only mean a raft of new projects

I've got a dunster house log cabin to build over the Christmas break, and have just finished converting the original gas fire to a log burner... Exciting times!

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Need to finish painting the walls and door of the toilet as the last few weeks with overtime and the bug thats been going around i have pretty much been dosed up to get through till x mas .I need to tackle that then the kitchen floor needs redoing as mrs ck though it would be a bright idea to put stick on floor tiles over the old tile floor even though we told her they would show through .Now it looks terrible so i am going to try and pull off the vinyl and see if i can save the old floor , if not it will be a full strip and lino which will be interesting as the kitchen is about 20x8 foot

I presume that's the 'End' picture? Our wood burners has been on most nights this week. Not really needing the heat, but adds a lovely feeling to the room.

Yeah we don't need the warmth but it's lovely having the fire going in the evenings, we're getting through a lot of wood  I've installed a smart heating controller with smart valves on all the radiators so the heating in the rest of the house stays on even after the log burner has heated the lounge and hall to 25 degrees haha.

I've started clearing way for the log cabin this afternoon  Some concrete to break up and tree stumps to remove next...

Just a little mirror job, daughter wanted a mirror she'd bought in the downstairs closet. We took off all the clips and brackets

The cabin base has taken a long time for various reasons but it's down now 😎

The coil on the right is 6mm2 SWA for power, run underground to the house then down the side wall ready for connection through the wall to the consumer unit in the kitchen. The coil on the left is two shielded Cat6 cables, again run in trenches one to the house straight in to the router and our gigabit fibre broadband connection, the other runs in to the garage for future use.

Next job is to coat the bearers in preservative - they're pressure treated already but might as well give them another layer of protection while they're accessible. Once that's done the walls will start going up 😎
