The hairdressers one was good!

In context, I think one or two could be almost acceptable. Sand for example; I read recently that Spanish adverts are including pictures of the Caribbean. And the one bed apartment space issue, obviously they're smaller, but the common areas (kitchen, bathroom, dining room) may be significantly smaller making it uncomfortable. I have stayed in family units for families up to four people and they have been far too small for that number.

Or am I being a middle class killjoy?

My brother and dad went to the Monaco GP a few years back. They got talking to one of the other Brits there and my brother (who is a bit of a foodie) mentioned how great some of the food he'd eaten was. "Ooh, yes" came the reply "the McDonalds here is much better than the ones at home!". I mean, really ... there's no hope for some people.

Good stuff. My cousin, who lives in Greece and is married to a Greek bloke she met on holiday there a few years back, worked for a while as a tourist guide in their village. She regularly had to deal with complaints about how it was raining and could she do something about it, please?
Mrs-LC and I were on a small ferry going between two Greek islands some years ago, and had to endure Hyacinth Bucket and her mate going on about how windy it was and how it was disgusting that "they never warn you about that". I'm not sure who "they" would be ..

I loved the one about the shop not selling 'proper' biscuits...

Overall though, I just felt ashamed to be British...
