This has taken a while to actually arrive but thanks to @Tony Raynor it's here .

Drilled and chromed rear dropouts , chromed front dropouts.

Drilled bottom bracket , fastback rear stays .

ex time trial machine with weird twist grip gear changes on time trial bars !!!

An hour in the garage this morning has been rewarded with a 0.65 mile ride.

Once the gear cables were cut I could remove the trip bars . Slotted in some wheels pulled the brake cables up and of we went on a gentle spin .

its not the run of the mill "Professional" but the sl model hence the variations

I'm still feeling green It's a cracking bike @biggs682, light and as peeps have said quite a rare offering in reasonable condition. Think it's around 82 as the did change the wrapover around then.

Think even I could clock 12mph on that race machine.

Just glad you managed to get it after it's holiday up north

A bit of work tonight and we have some down tube gear levers fitted and cabled up and they even select a few gears as well .

Also replaced the brake pads and started on the brake cables , hopefully will be up early am 2moro to finish the brakes off and have another trundle around the block to see what is going on gear wise .

Well gears work to a degree just a bit of fine tuning required , front brake works now just the rear to sort either a sticky lever or caliper edging towards a bent/sticking lever blade . Also swapped stem and bars over for a shorter reach set might not a bit shorter stem but it feels better .

Two miles this morning nice and sprightly so will see .

A bit more tinkering tonight and the rear brake is fully functional at last , so treated myself a spin up to the top of the mad mile and back .

These Shimano Aero levers work well and are in easy reach

The paintwork has a nice shine on it where i have t cut and polished it on the down and top tube .

The Mavic rear mech doesnt like the 28 tooth rear sprocket much so need to swap the mech over
