This is my recently finished Hobbs Blue Riband.

Well finished but some parts will be changed

Hobbs Blue Riband track frame that had been drilled for brakes before I got it and bizarrely had mudguard braze on's added to the rear dropouts only.
Wheels (to be changed) Le Tour hubs double fixed and Super Champion sprint rims running cheap Vittoria tubs.
Stronglight 49D chainset with 48 tooth 1/8" chain wheel
MKS track pedals (to be changed) Christophe blue straps and alloy toe clip.
Campagnolo Pista bottom bracket
Campagnolo Headset with Lytalloy top nut
Strata girder stem and Strate Maes drop bars
GB Coureur brakes
Reynolds R5 seat pin
Brooks Professional saddle
Velox cloth bar tape finished with blue thread whipping and REG barend plugs.

Thanks
I must admit that I built it over a weekend with what I had to hand, not what I had intended to use but needed a bike for Anjou Velo last weekend after failing to finish the tandem in time. The polishing of 60 year old alloy took the longest and made me look more like a coal miner. It does ride rather nice, responsive but not twitchy. Probably the lightest old bike I have too.

Very nice and the blue touches set it off a treat. I particularly like the way you have finished off the bar tape with the thread, neat. I found another pic of a "Hobbs of the Barbican" bike. Dare I say it, with even more fancy lugwork than yours!

They are the same lugs as mine that have been lined.

No worries, my fault for not including the before shots.
I do like the lug work, ornate but not Hetchins OTT in my view. I also have a road version which is only a few frame numbers different to the track bike but that is not as ornate, still a Blue Riband. Shame it is too small for me.

Oh and I have a fillet brazed Hobbs that I have just picked up for restoration. It may be some time before I get round to it though.

Nice, although I'd be nervous that it fell off of that balcony/banister!!

I do think blue is probably the best colour for a bike, and I would never would have considered that metallic grey but with blue it makes a lovely combination. Did they have metallic back then ? Probably not I would guess.
