Just noticied that I have like a line through my one eyeball. I'm not in any pain but it's kind of obscuring my vision. lt's like, all bobbles in a consistent line in my vision. It's very difficult to describe!

Anyone ever had anything like that before? It seems to clearing up already though.

Book an appointment with your GP. It won't do you any harm and it might do you some good.

Sheet made, don't gaff about. If its not something like a vitreous floater then get to your.local hospital eye casualty ASAP. My missus is partially sighted an it ain't no fun.

I've had the occasional sight defect when cycling. Though, with me it's more a slightly fluorescent migraine without the pain. It goes. Coffee aggravates that. (As do long drinking sessions and sleepless nights But coffee's the worst.) This though affects both eyes. Or, at least, if I shut both my eyes, I can still see it so it's difficult to put it down to one eye.

Any distortion in your vision needs to be checked. Lines that should be straight but have a break in them? Get to an optician in the morning, don't mess with your eyesight... flashing lights when you move your eyes from side to side- could be a detaching retina... get to an optician.

I had something similar last year, booked in to see the optician the next day. They said it was a migraine with visual aura, a one-off or something that might start happening a lot, fortunately for me it was a one off, I've never had any sort of migraine before or since. Go and get it checked out.

I've had floaters since I was a kid and they don't bother me at all. They never were in a neat straight line though. Maybe I'm untidy.

Get ye to a quack. Soon.

I think I was a bit dehydrated - I've just drunk another 1.5 litres of water over the last few hours and I feel better now too.

I'm not sure that in general I am drinking enough water but I'll get on that. Will get to GP as soon as I can.

Also, today is my 6th 12 hour shift and I have found in the last few weeks I am not sleeping as much as I used to - and not because I am worried, I'm just waking up a good hour or two earlier than normal (usually I sleep until 3-4PM without thinking about it, since I've started cycling I'm wide awake by 2 in the afternoon and I don't get so tired anymore - maybe that is a side effect of the exercise itself? If it is, it is most welcome. I love my sleep, but it is quite the inefficient use of my time!)
