What's the best training method guys,......

Get as many miles in as possible or hit the hills for a good workout.
Baring in mind I can hit a total of a 4000ft climb in about 35 miles round here.

It looks like you are far fitter and more experienced than I am but I've taken to the hills for winter. I have limited time so I thought hard cycling might be more beneficial.
I've no idea whether this is going to work but ill watch this thread in the hope others can advise.

I'm no fitter than the average cyclist believe me. I don't smoke and hardly drink and couldn't believe how unfit I was ha ha

I should have thought time in the saddle, so miles. As far as I know it's not an extremely hilly ride to Paris

Miles for me, but that is because I dislike climbing. Six months ago that would have been hate climbing, so I must be mellowing
I dislike hills too. They highlight the fact that I'm not as fit as I am in my head!
I ride from my house to Ripon - a gently undulating 12 miles. From there I can turn left towards Pately Bridge and some serious hills or right into the Vale of York and a long flat ride.
I often turn right when I should turn left!

Neither is best. Time spent at intensity is the best training method, if it's training you want. I avoid the local hills, tbh.

Chadzys hill is probably 5000ft in 500 yards ha ha............that hill was made by the devil

Chadzy's gains about 500ft in a mile. Even the main road climb up to the windfarm only gains about 1000ft..
