Hi peeps.

As the title suggests I am looking for a pointer towards either an on-line database or a book which lists the gradients of given roads, hills, etc.

I guess I am asking too much, but if anyone is aware of such a think please let me know.

don't think it exists.
get an ordnance survey map and plot your intended ride out on that, this will give you a pretty good indication of the altitude profile you're likely to face.

then start such a database yourself for others benefit maybe?

Mapmyride.com has an option to show the gradient of any given route. Plot it out and it then gives you a profile from start to finish of the route.

Hi mate. Oddly enough that was the climb I did yesterday. I made it from Maerdy to the first lay-by at the top of the hill in 12mins 10 seconds and to the start of the descent into Aberdare in 16mins 50secs. Brecon is a great cycle ride but the assent back through Libinus is a killer
