Parrot of Doom

New Member
Parrot of Doom used to frequent cycling forums as a petrol head troll. My guess was that the P and D letters meant 'Petrol' or 'Diesel'!

His style was very difference to the new Parrot and he was eventually banned!

Actually I was banned because the angry-little-man that masquerades as Spindrift complained about my relatively minor infraction of the forum's CoC (I think I called him an idiot, or similar). This was, of course, in retaliation, because he'd been banned for writing of his desire to see Paul Smith, founder of SafeSpeed, suffer a particularly brutal and nasty assault.

But don't let the truth get in the way, eh?

/edit - assault, not death (IIRC)

.... May be hi-viz Y-Fronts worn batman style would be the wise choice...
LOL

I'm sure there is a borders rugby team with a black and yellow strip - it might be Melrose? - I can't be bothered to check.

I'm not a high viz wearer unless it's cold and wet and then my waterproof is a lidl flourescent yellow thing which works a treat at keeping the water out. I figure that the time of year when i wear it is when the days tend to be darker anwyay so it probably helps me be seen.
The rest of the year i wear white / bright blue / grey+yellow, so again i'm fairly bright. I don't know if ANY colour means that you definitely get seen by drivers; i think it's down to the drivers to spot us, or us to make ourselves noticed by where we ride rather than what we wear. I was turning right round a mini roundabout the other week, and some schmuck nearly pulled out into me - i was about two feet away from his front bumper, and had right of way on the roundabout as i was halfway round when he got there - and still he didn't see me, even that close!!
