New guy here from Birmingham looking to join a local club sometime soon as I have been riding seriously for the past year.
I ride the saturday and sunday training runs with the velo CC some people might know me.
I was always under the impression that cycling was about people sharing a common experiance, people knowing the effort and pain involved in racing or doing a 100 mile ride and the pleasure we get from those things... However...
I know the guy Jez Smith who the sotonia people have problems with who rides in the DHC kit, I am told that his old club chairman is trying to prevent him from riding with sotonia this week , Jez was out at 9.30 today riding an 80 mile route up the derbyshire hills with a couple of velo CC guys and I think he is racing at curzon this week and has been invited to ride with sotonia next week by someone he knows from the club.
I agree entirely with what he says about riding with the likes of the very strong riders you find in the midlands being slightly better than some club that refuses to do any targetted traing because some 17 year old boy doesn't want to do it.
I expect that somone will try to have my account closed but it sounds to me like there are some very confused people hanging around some clubs.
