My Snow Drops are coming through. My front lawn is dotted with small white bell shaped heads, half a dozen so far, The first signs that springs on its way. On having a closer look at my garden there are other plants starting to show there shoots as well.

No signs of spring in this part of the world

An Acer in our garden is budding. Grass is looking lush. To my mind, Spring starts in Feb nowadays.

Just completed the RSPB garden birdwatch, which - in the quieter moments - was a good opportunity to look at how the plants have fared too.

We have only been in this house about twelve months and I haven't done much to the garden yet, Been concentrating on the house. The snow drops went in, on the front lawn, in the autumn along with some pansies and tulips out the back, in the bed by the shed, and Grape hyacinths alongside the front path, and I added the free bulbs I got, I can't remember what they were, to the snowdrops in the lawn. The hyacinths are coming up as well.

I thought it was a triumph not doing much gardening! ;)

As long as you don't weed while on the bike, that's ok.

Now thats an idea, I haven't tried that yet, normally when I am weeding I like to get down on my knees and get my hands in the soil.

He more than likely was. I haven't seen anything other than snowdrops so far, but I will be paying more attention now and will be seeing if I can spot others plants. Its nice to see the early flowers starting to come through, lets us know there is an end to winter, and its on its way.
