Help needed! What gear do I need as a beginner?

Cycle glasses if you go off road you will need them dirt gets in your eyes and on road they keep the wind out . If you go for a mountain bike a back pack or camel back will be ideal if a road bike a saddle bag and water battle and cage will be better

I do plan on going off road a fair bit, so glasses or goggle will also make it onto the list. I'll probably go for the backpack, and maybe get a frame bag if it's too much.

Similar sort of set-up here.

Got a saddle bag with everything such as tyre-levers, spare inner-tubes, multi-tool, etc. But it also carries my arm+leg warmers for when it starts to get cold

Also have a water bottle and cage plus lights for when it gets dark
