As long as I breathe, I attack.
I can recommend to peak pumps,on the road I carry a mini pump along with a C02 inflator then have a track pump at home.If you want one pump then the road morph is like a mini track pump and will get your tyres up to pressure ,obviously not as quick as a dedicated track pump but a lot quicker than a get me home mini pump.
Many on here like joe blow track pumps and the advice regarding carrying spare tubes is very good,I carry 2 tubes, self adhesive patches, tyre boot, multi tool with a chain tool and a chain quick link along with pump.

The self adhesive patches are great, well worth it imho.

Guys thanks for the advice and I've been out and bought everything in the video. I've watched the video and struggled to do it as i know practice makes perfect.

Well I'm now peed off because twice i thought I'd done it and twice the thing has gone down again!!!! Leaking from the same place which is near the valve. On the subject of valves these Presta things are a pain in the arse. I'm now going to attempt tube No3 and if that fails i'll have to take it to a bike shop like the spaz I am

How much pressure I'm going for 110??

If you imagine the tube is inflated - if the puncture is on the inside of the tube, check to see if there is a rough point on the inside of the wheel rim (sometimes the holes drilled to accommodate the spoke heads can have sharp edges or sometimes a spoke may protrude into the wheel rim) You will need to peel the rim tape out of the way to check this, and then ensure it is replaced carefully.

I'm now absolutely gutted as I've just fitted tube number 3 and as i was putting the wheel back on the tyre blew big time, blowing part of the tyre off the rim. So I'm now going to have to take it for repair and ask him what i did wrong

By the sounds of it you inflated the tyre whilst it was pinched between the tube and the tyre rim.
You need to make sure that it's not pinched by rotating the wheel, pushing the tyre away from the rim to make sure the tube is not pinched.

Hey, don't despair, we've all done it.

Well at £5 a pop that's £15 blown away, literally. I wouldn't mind but attempt No3 was quick and worked as it should. I even worried about the tube size that the wife picked up from Halfords 23 to 32 c. can't believe one size fits all? so maybe the tube with 110psi had swollen to a huge size and then exploded/? If the bloke can't do the repair because of Xmas, I'm going to have to buy about 40 tubes and keep trying as i want to get out on the bike this Xmas.

I recently looked in the back room and thought 'I'll top up the front and back tyres as it'll save me faffing about early morning and wakening my grumpy children, I thought the half light from the hallway will suffice...track pump out and the front felt okay, the back ? a wee top up BUT the pressure gauge wasn't too clear in the dim light, dim ? it was yer man who was dim. Feeling pleased at getting everything ready for the early AM run, I walked along the hallway and kapow! the inner tube blew loudly. The tyre and me were deflated..
My oops.
Keep in there Doc

Leaking from the same place which is near the valve.

All tubed tyres on cars, bikes, trucks or whatever will leak from around the base of the valve.
As well as air escaping from where the the hole in the tyre is, it will also find another route out from the tube to the outside world, and that is round the valve stem.

When I was a tyre fitter, I'd explain this to numerous folks in the course of a week when they brought in a punctured wheel off a wheelbarrow or trailer or Me109 or whatever and say "It's leaking round the valve mate",

No chance of getting a puncture repaired today as every bike shop has ques before opening today. Apparently there's a few kids bukes being assembled and stored ready for some event tonight.

Anyway I've purchased 4 more tubes, and all of them are 700 x 18-25, which means I should have less rubber to get 'nipped'. I got 2 of the Halfords tubes and 2 Slime? Bigger box does this mean heavier and are they any good?

I will be attempting to break the record for the most tubes ruined when I get home later today. I will of course keep you posted as I enjoy giving you a giggle at my expense.

don't inflate it even to the max it said on the tire inflate it to between the min and max psi rating on tire. eg my tires say min 35 psi max 65 psi so i inflate to about 50-60 psi (my tyres are quite low pressure) yours may be anywhere up to 120ish psi before you should really be surprised and scared!

Little tip i use, leave the valve bit to last when re fitting the tyre. Then when you get to this push the valve into the tyre so the last bit of tube does not get caught.

good luck.
