That head tube isn't straight, so panic over. It will be a standard 1-1/8 to 1-1/4 as there were only a few specific manufacturers that went 1-1/4 to 1-1/2.

Ajax's link does the job of explaining the offset. If you look there is also offset in the crown you need to compensate.

You might not be able to find an exact match but it will only have a small bearing on how the bike handles. The main thing is that the fork is tall enough .

You said (screwed up in @figbat 's post quote): "Fascinating but (no offence intended) there any chance of staying on topic? The question is pretty specific lol."
:welcome: to CycleChat (well for the first time yesterday in 20 months). People will doubt help you find that fork but interesting things come from OT mini-discussions.

Thanks and sorry...no offence meant.

So..

Axel to crown is....495mm
Steerer is....1.5 - 1 1/8 tapered (but Frame is straight not tapered)
Steerer length is...230mm
Offset is....42mm
Brake is...160mm IS
Axel is...15x100 thru.

Needs to be a steel because I am going to use it for bike packing and may well have bags strapped to it..

All info will be online depending on the year of your bike. Looks like the year in the link above had an offset of 46 so the forks you mentioned earlier should be fine given their offset of 47.
This is the model

Ah well I do have glasses but I keep losing them!

Time for one of those pieces of string

The fork you posted earlier would work. Offset slightly larger but only by 4mm which is hardly going to be noticeable but they are just over 10mm shorter. Again, you're not really going to notice that as it would be less than your suspension fork will sag when riding the bike anyway (100mm air sus fork will sag at approx 20-25% if set correctly)

Yea I totally get the piece of string. 😂 So not expecting to find a perfect fit...

To complicate things the fork I have is actually 120mm travel. But the bike rides pretty high so I don't suppose I would mind dropping a little..

The next question is the straight to tapered steerer issue...looking at the bike spec it simply says that the head tube is an oversized 44mm.. so not tapered just adjusted by the type of headset used. So am I right in saying I can just get the correct headset and I should be able to use a straight 1 1/8 steerer?

The forks you have taken off are tapered and the ones linked are also tapered so you will be fine 👍

Jordy  It's not the first time and it won't be the last.

The link was broken earlier so I had to google it. If you can't get a tapered steerer fork then you will need a conversion lower cup on your headset. Surely there must be plenty of forks out there with the right steerer.
