no, maybe a little lighter and a bit more ventilation. But they do the same job.

You can get one that meets the UK safety standards for much less than £70 (Specialized do one for about £30) and I think that maybe what most people look for.
I have a Bern, retails at £60 and I got mine in an online sale for £34, posted.
I like it because it's really comfortable and that's important for me.

As @ScotiaLass says the Specialized Align is £30 & specifies that it complies with one or more of the safety standards for helmets. Its also very comfortable to wear with good adjustment.

I can also confirm that they work as this is my Align after me being knocked off last week!!

Soup890....... You've opened up a can of worms here!
Anyone and everyone has a different opinion, some good, and some not so good.
If you like it, and can afford it and think it will give you protection then buy it.

Is there any point of buying a expensive bike helmet which cost from £70 upwards. I have a cheap Bell helmet from Halfords is there any difference?

Depends what you are looking for! Lighter, better ventilated, better fit, better aerodynamics.... all things which you get for spending more!

1. It needs to fit
2. It needs to be comfortable
3. Forget the EN1078 certification - it isn't worth the paper it is written on
4. By a helmet with Snell certification, if it fulfils 1 and 2

Or don't buy a helmet as I have come off quite few times and never needed one.

ps This anecdote should bear the same significance as any 'My helmet saved my life" anecdote, ie none really as nothing can be proved one way or the other from a single unrepeatable event.

Not sure how this proves it works - or even what you think it has done
Are you serious? My head/helmet smashed down on the tarmac & I (eventually) walked away without a mark/bruise on my skull.
I don't think anything, I know that by taking the impact it saved my skull from potentially a very serious injury.

Save your ink, soon somebody will be along to tell you your head would not have hit the ground if you did not have a helmet on.

I am with you on this one, as I feel a helmet may have saved my head from further injury more than once.
