Helmet mirrors

I read blogs on crazyguyonabike.com , lots of the Americans love these mirrors and get avidly fanatical about insisting that it's the only way to go. I cycled across America fine with no mirror and not sure that there are any situations where having a mirror would've change my behaviour in any way at all....

On a similar note there is a road in Arizona that some cyclists will take a two day detour to avoid going through a tunnel. It was unpleasantly steep but absolutely fine from a safety point of you!
