Rightoh, firstoff i dont want a helmet debate, this is only for helmet wearers !

I done the coast to coast, in my brand new £80 helmet, two days in and the kid infront spat some gravel up when we were going downhill at 47 mph, it came straight for my face but i winced and turned my head and luckily it hit my helmet just above the ear and smashed my shades off my face but its put two little holes in my helmet, each about the size of a five pence piece,

Do you think the i integrity of the helmet is knackered, or should it be ok in the event i need it next time ?

Be gutted to have to buy another one !

Some manufacturers do an exchange, is your helmet one of those?

I was glad it was my helmet, because if it had of been my head i wouldnt like to think what the outcome would have been, be like getting shot in the head, smashed my shades clean off my face as well, which saved my eyes too

New helmet definitely. You can only contact Boardman customer services and ask ref replacement, but I'd be surprised if they do

Well you did ask the question! It may not be a full replacement but some manufacturers do offer some sort of part exchange

HI
I would buy a new helmet. Your lid and shades have done their jobs.
Gutting to have to buy a new one after only having it 5 minutes but still. I replace mine every couple of years, just as I did my motorcycle helmet when I was still riding motorbikes.

This answers the question.....

If you are genuinely claiming that in this case the impact was sufficient that the helmet saved you from such a serious injury, then there will have been damage to the helmet and it will need replacing

.. and you will also need one of these to protect from such serious injury in future:
