I know it enough to get around, but not well enough to avoid dead ends and main roads, Last thing I would want to do is wear myself out attempting a route, get halfway through then keel over and get stuck at the bottom of a Giant hill, or ... somethin' ... Have you ever been up onto the route that runs from Gateshead to Consett, What's it like once you get up the mountain and onto it lol

The derwent route is quite a nice ride, for most of it you barely even notice your on a hill, but there are a few steep bits... Mostly where bridges have been removed. I quite like that route, i'm planning to do a run out from here (north shields) up that way almost to stanhope one of these weekends for fun. Its a nice enough off road route

Oh the tanfield railway path, not the dervwent one, No i havent tried that one yet, I'm meaning to soon though, it goes up past causey arch !

There is a chat, but you have to opt in in the sticky thread in site support section.
