Hi Darren, I also live near Peterborough and work here. Its good to see people on the forum from the same place as me

The only thing I would suggest is that Peterborough is quite flat. Unless you are particularly looking to ride off road a lot it may be a consideration to get a bike that is a bit more road orientated. Not particularly a race bike but maybe a tour or hybrid?

My suggestion would be to pop into Terry Wrights in Market Deeping. Tell them what your looking to do and your price range and I'm sure they will suggest something best suited to your needs.

Terry Wrights are a good place for kit/bikes as they have a good range of price points. Not too keen on their servicing though as when they did the first service on my Allez the gear change was no better. With 5 minutes on here I found some videos that allowed me (someone with no previous experience) to be able to set them up better.

But like I say their product range is good and the sales guys are helpful.

Hi and thanks for the welcome. As it happens I've just got home early and am about to go to Terry Wright's. Will have a look and see what he's got. Was hoping to try a couple out but not sure in this weather lol

So I ended up with a bike today from Terry Wrights. Went in to lpol at the trek 7.2 and they had the 7.3 on offer for less than the 7.2. Seemed rude not to! !

nice one mate. I think that is a much better choice than a mountain bike for round these parts
