Indeed roads are very well and lots of cycling paths protect you from driving on a 80kmh road being passed by cars and trucks. The downside (there always is one ..); now that gravel riding is coming up, its pretty hard to find some unpaved roads in the Western part. Not impossible but still ...Welcome!
I've done a few bits of NL cycling; I quite enjoyed the geology being more "relaxed" than at home in the UK.
And yes, we are rightly jealous of your cycling infrastructure, and the way it is accepted as everyday transport. Is it all as good as it seems?
