I find it amazing, I can cycle 100 miles on little under 2 litres.

Everyone is different , i just use a 750ml for a 40 mile ride and feel fine, but it is full of High 5 , and then when home i drink another 500ml as i sit and relax

It is entirely up to the person. If you feel you're suffering, drink more. Whether or not you purchase additional products is up to you. I tend to just have water or volvic lemon water (gives a taste).

I personally drink very little on rides, I have a 750ml bottle of water for my commute but it is rarely touched and will certainly last the week more than half full (over 100 miles). On a 150 mile FNRttC and back, I may get through 3 litres if it's warm but very rarely any more than that.

I'm a drinker. I use a large bottle in anything from 10 to 20 miles depending on the weather and carry a minimum of two bottles if I head out the door for a ride. I ride with people who have one bottle for a 40 mile run. If I tired that I'd be dehydrated in short order.

The trick is not to drink x amount, but to drink enough, for you.

Always carry a lot of drink with me, sometimes drink stops/shops are few and far between, also need to use my expensive and colour coordinated bottle carriers,"YES i do need them dear,No I am not always spending money on the bike" crossed fingers.

I just thought I probably should add that although I tend not to drink much, on every ride apart from my commute (1) I have two 750ml bottles of water on the bike just in case.

A heavy drinker here as well. I don't have figures to hand but I do seem to drink more than some others I cycle with. I do sweat a lot but also have a suspicion that my habit of breathing through my mouth when cycling makes my throat feel very dry if it's dusty so I need to drink to alleviate that as well.
