Hello all, I've got a giant defy 5 (2014) for my winter bike but got a clicking from the bearings, I've regreased etc with no luck, happens when mostly when braking etc so looking to get new ones. Currently it uses cups and caged bearings. Anyone know which ones I can change it too? Finding it hard to find which one I need. One forum I found on Google said FSA over drive 1.

When you regreased, could you see any reason for the click, like pits in the balls, cups or cones? I'm a bit surprised such a bike is using cages instead of cartridges, but it could be. Which bearings are clicking? I think usually BB and rear hubs are ¼", front hubs 3/16" and headset 5/32", but measuring the existing ones are the best way to find out.

It sounds like the bottom headset bearings clicking, it has 1/4 at the bottom of the headset and 1/8 at the top. They did feel fine but the cups don't seem to fit flush enough with the forks and frame, thinking to upgrade to sealed bearings and get rid of the cups but trying to find a good alternative headset. Giant emailed me saying FSA od1 (over drive 1) and remove the cups. Wondering if anyone has tried this before?
